Hi, my children are too young to snorkel (ages 5 & 3), so we'd like to do the glassbottom boat tour and the semisubmersible add-on. Is there a specific time for the semisubmersible? and how many people can it fit?
    Thanks

    Comments

The semi submersible is a fantastic extra to your Green Island experience. This vessel seats 27 passengers and cruises for approx 30 minutes. When you make a booking for your Green Island cruise, you will receive a boarding pass stating your allocated time to do the semi-submersible.

My family of 4 would like to do this tour. 3 of us can swim and would like to snorkel, but 1 can’t and could do the GBB. But we would like to do as much together as we can. I’m not sure how to add on things and how much these cost. Also we need to board our cruise ship which leaves at 6. It says approx return at 5. I just want to make sure we don’t miss our cruise boarding.

You can certainly book the snorkelling option for some of your group and the glass bottom boat for yourself. On the Green Island Full Day Tour, you will catch the ferry from Cairns and then disembark at Green Island. Here, you have plenty of time to relax on the beach while members of your group go snorkelling at their leisure. You can then join the 30 minute glass bottom boat tour, which departs from on-island, and rejoin your group afterwards.

Hi Alice, absolutely and children under 4 are free! The Big Cat vessel is pram friendly if you wanted to bring a pram along and there are boardwalks and pathways throughout the island that are suitable too

    Hi,

I just wondered if your lunch would cater to a vegan diet?

    Thanks

    Comments

Heya. Yes it is a hot and cold buffet lunch so you can pick out foods which are suitable for your diet. There will be a few things such as the salads which are vegan.

How far is your departure terminal from the Cairns Cruise Line Terminal? Is it possible to pre-book transfers directly between these two points?

    Comments

Heya, So the reef fleet terminal (which is where you would meet for all of the boat trips out of Cairns) is a 8 min walk from the cruise line terminal in basically a straight line along the esplanade. If you want to have a quick check just google 'cairns cruise line terminal to cairns reef fleet terminal' it shows you how close it is. :)

the pick up options are beach or hotel, what does it mean when you are picked up at the beach? is there parking by the beach pick up areas?

    Comments

Heya, I am not sure where it says you can get picked up at the beach? It may do somewhere... however you can either get picked up from your central accommodation and dropped at the marina or make your own way to the marina! It is part of the main city so only a short walk for people staying centrally. Hope this helps!

Hi, what is the difference between certified dive and introductory dive? Can I do both? Thanks.

    Comments

Hi Meera, if you are certified diver it means you have your PADI dive certification ticket. If you haven't done a certified scuba dive course before then you will need to book the introductory dive which allows you to try out scuba diving under the watchful eye of a qualified guide when you are at Green Island.

BOAT SNORKEL TRIPS EXTRA $38, IS THIS INCLUDED IN GREEN ISLAND REEF CRUISE FULL DAY OR IS IT AN EXTRA ACTIVITY? HOW DO I BOOK IT?

    Comments

    Hi Callan,

The additonal boat snorkle trips are for people that want to be taken by boat from the island to the reef, this is an easier alternative to swiming out from the beach. It's simple an optional extra which you can choose.

    Thanks,

    Nigel

Hi, Would it be possible to try scuba diving on this tour with instructor and also snorkelling?

    Comments

Hi Madeline. Yes you can certainly do the introductory diving on Green Island and there is plenty of time to give snorkelling a go as well. You spend about 5 hours on Green island so you wont be short of time. The diving can be booked once you get to the island so all you need to book before hand is the Cruise & Snorkel option via our website.

How long does it take to get to Green Island from Cairns?

    Comments

Hi Shara. The trip to Green Island from Cairns on board Big Cat is around 1 hour (depending on weather and sea conditions). If you book the half day Green Island tour with Reef Rocket (operated by Big Cat Green Island) it only takes 45 minutes each way as its a smaller & faster boat.
