Description

Experience picturesque views of the Great Barrier Reef, relax on the beach and go bushwalking on a half day trip to Fitzroy Island with Fitzroy Island Adventures. Located just a 45 minute boat ride from Cairns, Fitzroy Island is an idyllic place to discover the Great Barrier Reef up close with snorkelling straight from the beach and glass bottom boat tours above colourful fish and coral.

Take some more time in the morning to have a sleep in and get ready, before heading over to Cairns Marlin Marina to check in with Fitzroy Island Adventures. Step on board a high-speed catamaran and race over to Fitzroy Island on a 45 minute cruise, with picturesque views across sparkling reef waters. As you arrive at Fitzroy Island, gaze out at this slice of paradise with gorgeous white beaches and tropical rainforest. 

Spend up to 2 hours on Fitzroy Island, exploring the rainforest on bushwalks, swimming in turquoise water and sunbathing on the beach. If you feel like getting closer to the Great Barrier Reef's marine life, grab your snorkel equipment from the Fitzroy Island Adventures boat and go snorkelling directly off the beach. Or if you don't feel like getting wet, jump on a glass bottom boat tour to glide above the coral and look down at beautiful fish.
