What To Do in Cairns If You’re On a Time Limit?
Cairns offers adventure in every sense − with activities like scuba diving, snorkelling, river rafting, bungee jumping, skydiving and horseback hiking. While Cairns warrants at least a few days to really soak in everything this region has to offer, there are some activities you can do even if only have a half day in Cairns. These half-day tours are sure to make your visit to Cairns well worth your time.
- The Low Isles Afternoon Cruise half-day tour by Sailaway will give you a true taste of this aquatic paradise. The cruise takes you to the beautiful Coral Cay Island, where you can choose between numerous activities. You can choose to go on a guided snorkelling tour or swim in the pristine reef waters to embrace the natural beauty around you. If you are afraid to get wet, you can get on to a glass bottom boat to view the reef below the ocean bed. Don’t want to do anything other than relax? Soak up the sun on the beach with an ice-cold beer from the fully licensed bar on board.
- If water is not your cup of tea, the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway tour will take you through one of the most beautiful and oldest rainforests in the world. Discover the Tropical Rainforests of Australia through the Barron Gorge National Park. The Skyrail cableway spans 7.5 kilometres in length and has two midway stops. The midway stops are perfect for viewing some of the most beautiful sights the rainforest has to offer. Forest rangers will take you on guided walkway tours in the rainforest, while sharing information about the local flora that has inhabited the forest for hundreds of years. The whole tour takes approximately two to three hours and is one of the best options if you have limited time in Cairns.
- You can also take the Skyrail and Kuranda Railway combo. Apart from the Skyrail trip to the rainforests, this combo offers a scenic journey back to Cairns on the famous Kuranda Scenic Railway train. The stunning views along this route will have you captivated as you glide through the region.
Despite its small area, Cairns is a city that boasts of everything nice to bring some spice into your life!
