I could propbably write a small essay on how amazing this trip was. However, I’ll make it short and concise. There is nothing, and I mean nothing about this trip that was bad. The crew was amazing, the rooms were amazing, the food was amazing and last but not least - the diving sights over went all my expectations. Diving in the Great Barrier Reef has been a lifelong dream for me - and there is NO better way to experience it than on this amazing boat. It may be a little pricy, but I can assure everyone that it is worth every penny. If I every get back to cairns there is no other option for me than to do this all over once more. Thanks for this amazing experience.

Latest Questions about Reef Boat Overnight - Reef Encounter

Hi,

I’d love to book this experience for my boyfriends birthday (13th March) but have a few questions - he’s dived twice before but has no PADI certificate, how many dives are included for introductory divers? And what are the chances of shark sightings on the beginner dives? I’d also like to add the night shark dive for him, is this an option and how much would this be please?

I’d just be onboard as a snorkelled as I even get nervous when snorkelling!

Many thanks,
Lina

Hello

Is there any availability for a solo travelled on a one night intro diving boat on Tuesday 15th November?

Hello we are a couple with a 5 year old. Will we be able to share a room?

Comments

Thanks for your question about the excellent overnight reef encounter tour in cairns! Yes, a 5-year-old can stay in the same room as the pair of you- they will be on a roll-a-way bed.

For the optional night shark dive, do you need to be a certified diver, or can anyone go ahead and do that??

Comments

Hey, You do not need to be a certified diver to participate in this night dive but you must have completed a intro dive in the day before hand. So you will need 1 x day time intro dive before you can purchase the additional 1 x intro night dive.

What is the difference between the two room options? I'm trying to book a 1 night live aboard for two divers that would prefer to have their own rooms, which option do you recommend?

Thank you!

Comments

Heya, So all of the rooms on board are either twin rooms or double rooms and generally you would share. If they would like to book a room out for single person occupancy it will cost considerably more. We can arrange this for you however :)

Hi! I am extremely interested in booking this for when I am in Cairns in October. The night dive with sharks really peaks my interest, and I'm wondering if I have to be scuba certified to join that dive, or if I will be able to snorkel on that dive? I'm planning on doing an introductory dive as well, unless I get verified by then.

Looking forward to joining you for a trip!

Hi Kevin, Ah yes the night dive with sharks is a truly unique experience, surprisingly i was not prepared for how dark it was going to be! Certainly one i would recommend. This dive school is one of the only ones that will let you do a introductory night dive, however beforehand you will have to do a introductory day time dive with them. As there is more room for error on a night dive they need to be sure you are safe in the water. Kind regards, Alicia

Can non-experienced divers do the shark dive?

Comments

Anyone with at least an open water dive certification can do the night dive with sharks from Cairns on board Reef Encounter. Introductory divers who do not hold a dive certification can not do the night dive unfortunately.
