The reef boat tour run by Great Adventures have garnered Advanced Ecotourism Certification, giving you the chance to learn about and discover the World Heritage natural landscapes of the Great Barrier Reef in an environmentally friendly manner.
You’ll be able to enjoy incredible views as you are transported by cruise to the reef activity platform, which consists of multiple levels and is situated on the Great Barrier Reef’s outer edge. There’s plenty of room for everybody on the platform, which has covered seating and tables at which guests can tuck in to sumptuous buffet lunches, complete bar facilities, an enclosed swimming area for kids, change rooms equipped with freshwater showers, a sundeck, full scuba diving facilities and a platform that’s partially submerged. Snorkelling and diving amongst some of the world’s most arresting coral gardens and witnessing the amazing diversity of the Great Barrier Reef’s marine life will be one of the most unforgettable experiences in your life.
If you prefer to remain completely dry, life under the sea can still be enjoyed in the underwater observatory, as well as on the roomy semi-submersible craft that’s equipped with air conditioning.

Introductory Diving
- Introductory diving is suitable for beginners. It’s fun and easy & there is still plenty of time to enjoy all other activities on board with family & friends!
- No experience is necessary & the only requirements are that you are over 12 years, pass the on-board medical questionnaire & participate in our 30 minute dive brief.
- All equipment, including wetsuits & prescription masks (if required) are included
- All of our professional dive instructors are PADI qualified.
Certified Diving
- Certified Divers can explore an underwater world teeming with exotic marine life, while non-diving & snorkelling companions participate in platform activities.
- We choose the most suitable sites for the conditions, water clarity & marine life on your day of travel to ensure the best dive & in-water experiences.
- Certified divers can enjoy one or two spectacular dives lasting approximately 40 minutes
- Certified divers must posses an internationally recognized SCUBA certificate card.
Guided Snorkelling Adventures (cannot be prebooked)
A guided snorkel tour is a great way to maximise your experience at the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Ideal for novice snorkellers and family groups, you will be able to swim with the fish and explore the wonders of the reef with one of our knowledgeable guides by your side!
Scuba Doo (cannot be prebooked)
Great Adventures’ pontoon on the Great Barrier Reef is the only place in Australia where you can cruise the reef on your own underwater scooter! No experience is necessary and non-swimmers welcome. It's great fun and your professional guide will take you on an underwater journey to remember. Minimum age is 12 years.
