Description

Cruising the high seas is such a pleasure on the Spirit of Freedom, one of the sleekest and most stylish dive vessels accommodating liveaboard passengers in all of Australia. The spacious vessel is one of the country’s largest, and makes for one of the most comfortable rides possible to the far northern reaches of the Great Barrier Reef, as well as the isolated reefs in the Coral Sea. The vessel is equipped with electronic stabilizers, spacious lounge areas and sun decks for relaxation, wide screen television sets, DVD players and luxurious accommodation. Spirit of Freedom’s stylish white exterior, clean, classic lines, refined polished chrome and timber, excellent customer service and delicious gourmet cuisine will enable you to feel as if you’re on our very own luxury yacht.

3 Day Cod Hole & Ribbon Reefs (Thursday – Sunday)
Scuba dive the world-renowned Cod Hole, as well as the crystal clear waters that fill the Ribbon Reefs, a fascinating ecosystem of unparalleled undersea diversity filled with the most stunningly beautiful natural landscapes. You will have the chance to participate in up to 11 dives over the course of two and a half days. Some of what you will see include a giant potato cod family, schools of tropical fish of all colours of the rainbow, sea anemones, olive sea snakes, sea turtles and wonderful swathes of coral gardens. You will spend your final night on board Spirit of Freedom, which will dock at the Lizard Island bay, and your dive tour will conclude the following morning with a scenic flight that lasts one hour and takes you from Lizard Island to Cairns. This experience is suited to confident snorkellers.

4 Day Coral Sea (Sunday – Thursday)
Your adventure begins with a scenic flight that takes you over the reef and to Lizard Island, where you will start diving at the apex of the Ribbon Reefs, exploring wonderful sites like Dynamite Pass and Cod Hole. This adventure is great for experienced divers, and the tour will take you some 200 kilometres away from the shore into the wilds of the Coral Sea, which hosts volcanic atolls that extend thousands of metres beneath the water. A heart-pumping dive with sharks, manta rays, shoals of large fish and much more will be enjoyed at Osprey Reef. Your final day will take place on the Ribbon Reef, where you will visit incredible sites including the world-renowned Steve’s Bommie. An extended stay in the Coral Sea in order to dive Bougainville Reef can also be enjoyed if the weather allows it. On your final night, you will travel overnight in order to get to Cairns early the next morning. This trip is perfect for experienced divers.

7 Day Cod Hole & Coral Sea (Thursday – Thursday)
Embark on a 7 day journey that combines the 3 Day Cod Hole & Ribbon Reef experience with the 4 Day Coral Sea adventure. You will not take a flight on this tour. Instead, you will take the Spirit of Freedom to the Great Barrier Reef, getting back to Cairns on the same vessel.

• Tanks & weights are included in the price but BCD, mask & fins are not. Full dive gear is available to hire
• Non divers can participate in snorkelling. Snorkellers are recommended to go on the 3 Day Cod Hole trip
• Dive tours available to certified divers only

• A fuel levy may apply at the time of travel
• Cancellations & changes to bookings are not accepted. A fee will apply
• The minimum diving age is 12 yrs. There is no maximum age
• Twin, double or quad share accommodation available
• To participate in scuba diving, passengers are required to sign a discharge of liability and a medical statement, stating they are fit to dive
• For the 3 & 4 Day Tours weight is limited to 20 kgs (45 lb). Secure storage is available at the Spirit of Freedom office
• Certified divers must present a valid Certification Card and be equipped with a safety sausage, whistle and alternate air source (included in Hire Equipment package)
• Please leave at least 24 hours after your last dive before flying
