Description
All new food and wine tasting adventure from Port Douglas featuring the tropical delights of Kuranda and the Tablelands.
You'll get picked up by your local tour guide Brett at your Port Douglas hotel at 9am and head down the coastal highway to Tjapukai Aboriginal cultural park, for your morning tea consisting of hot baked damper and indigenous tropical jams.
Next stop is the Kuranda range and De Brueys Boutique Wines where you can choose to taste unique tropical fruit wines, ports and liqueurs whilst admiring the stunning waterfall, lake and surrounding scenery.
Just a short ten minute drive down the road is Queensland's one and only distillery, Mount Uncle Distillery, where you will stop for a tasty lunch and enjoy a tasting of 2 of their boutique beers. Taste some of their award wining liqueurs and spirits before having the chance to wander around this spectacular property nestled deep in the coffee and banana plantations. Admire the stunning gardens whilst spotting the friendly animals and tasting their award winning liqueurs and spirits.
Drive through rolling green pastures on route to Gallo Dairyland, a fully operational dairy farm and gourmet cheese factory spread over 1000 acres. Enjoy a taste sensation as you try a selection of delicious cheeses before making our way back to Mareeba.
Next on the agenda is a stop at Jaques Family coffee plantation, home to 85,000 Arabica Coffee trees. Sit back and learn about the Jacques Family history as well as the coffee process, from tree to cup. Meander through the gardens before sipping on a cup of Jacques finest coffee made just as you like it.
You will then head across the savannah, past giant termite mounds and the uniquely Australian red dirt to a 160 acre private outback property. Here you can soak up the amazing rainforest and stunning, untouched environment, a sanctuary for native bird and animal species. Watch out for a resident kangaroo hopping by as you head down to 'The Platypus Hut'. Grab a seat and peacefully relax as the sun goes down whilst tasting some Queensland wines and beer and homemade Tableland dips.
