   For most of the year the climate in Cairns is 'beautiful one day and perfect the next' with blue skies, warm weather and gentle breezes. The average temperature varies between 20 and 30 degrees celcius (68F to 90F) all year round however there are two distinct seasons, the wet and the dry. The exact dates of these seasons change from year to year but in general, the wet season runs from November to April.

   Nearly all reef tours and adventure and sightseeing activities are available all year through both the wet and dry season although the vast majority of tourists visit Cairns and the reef between May and October.
