Description
Hartley's is famous for its exciting and educational wildlife presentations including crocodile shows, wetland wildlife, snake show, cassowary feeding, koala feeding and more.
Some activities are presented more than once allowing for half-day visitors. Our experienced keepers encourage questions about the animals and their habitat.
Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures takes pride in presenting both estuarine and freshwater crocodiles in their natural habitat while allowing visitors to walk or float amongst them in safety. Various presentations are held throughout the day giving visitors the opportunity to experience and learn more about these prehistoric animals.

Crocodile Attack Show - 3pm
"The Best Crocodile Show in Australia"
Learn how to avoid crocodile attack with safety tips for camping in the North. Watch our professional, experienced keepers demonstrate the notorious death roll and head shake. See a huge crocodile hand fed up close in our specially designed amphitheatre.
Hartley's Lagoon Boat Cruise - 9am, 10.30am, 1pm, 2.30pm, 4pm
The boat ride on Hartley’s Lagoon is a unique eco adventure. On specially constructed boats, visitors can explore the natural habitat of the Australian Saltwater Crocodile and learn about the ecological significance of the melaleuca wetlands found throughout northern Australia.

Crocodile Feeding - 11am
A guided tour featuring the habitat and behaviour of estuarine (saltwater) and freshwater crocodiles. Our keepers enthral you with their daring and fine judgement as they hand feed these prehistoric animals. Walk over a billabong inhabited by freshwater crocodiles on a floating pontoon bridge (the first of its kind in Australia).
Crocodile Photos - From 11.30am to 4.00pm
Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures now hosts Australia’s first digital crocodile ‘cuddling’ photo facility. The quality of these souvenir photos is excellent.
‘Friendly’ python photos are are also available at selected times.
Cost: $13.00
Koala Feeding - 4.30pm
Koalas sleep most of the day. Feed time is your chance to watch them come alive when presented with fresh gum leaves.
The koala display is open daily from 8.30am to 5.00pm.

Other Information
- Bookings are not essential
- The drive from Cairns takes about 35 minutes and is about half way to Port Douglas so it's a great place to visit whilst doing a Port Douglas day trip
- The Crocodile Attack show is on once a day at 3pm and is a must see!!
- Allow at least a couple of hours at Hartleys
