Cairns Seaplanes will fly you closer to the reef than other aircrafts. Gliding over the reef at a height of 500 feet gives you the view of a lifetime, allowing you the opportunity to spot up close the marine life and coral formations that frequent this amazing ecosystem.
With many international passengers, including the Japanese using Cairns Seaplanes, we have catered to this market by providing a fully conversant Japanese speaking pilot when required. At the end of your exhilarating flight with Cairns Seaplanes you will be presented with a commemorative certificate to show off to your friends together with the fantastic photographs you’ve taken of the Cairns Inlet, Green Island & the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef.
Scenic Flights
Choose either a 30 minute or 45 minute scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef flying at 500ft.
Sandy Cay
Spend up to 2 hours on an isolated sand cay miles from the crowds. Travelling by Seaplane to a secluded sand cay you can live the dream - and enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Barrier Reef with its colourful fish and spectacular coral. This tour includes a 15-20 minute scenic flight to your destination, snorkelling equipment, beach umbrella, blanket, canapes and soft drinks.
Exclusive Sandy Cay
Make this a once in a lifetime experience and spoil yourself and your loved one by visiting a little piece of tropical paradise. Enjoying the isolated beauty of a sand cay, miles from anywhere is something most people only dream about. For two hours live the dream - dive straight into the inviting waters and snorkel among the colourful tropical fish and spectacular coral. Green Island Fly & Cruise
Idyllic Green is just 15 minutes from Cairns by Seaplane. Travelling by seaplane offers a smooth unique way to this tropical paradise. Marvel at the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and sandy cays, arriving at the island ready to enjoy all the activities.
Whether you choose to spend a half day (4 hours) or a full day (8 hours) on Green Island travelling one way by seaplane & the other by air-conditioned fast catamaran is a great way to go. Viewing the reef and island from above before snorkelling around the coral wonderland and then finishing with a cruise home gives you the best of both worlds.
Green Island Fly & Fly
If you are not interested in travelling by boat to or from Green Island take the smooth comfortable option and fly both ways. This flexible tour allows you the opportunity to return to Cairns earlier in the day giving you a head start on your evening’s activities.

- A minimum of 2 passengers are required to confirm the flight. If you are travelling on your own we still recommend booking in advance as we can generally find another customer to confirm the trip
- All flights are conducted at or below 500ft so you are able to scuba dive beforehand
- Children are welcome (at adult rates). Kids under 2 years old travel for free
