If you're going to do this once in your life, really, do it here. More people take balloon rides here than the rest of Australia combined and big is best, when it comes to hot air balloons. There are more balloons and far more takeoffs, hey it's just like flying in a balloon festival. The sensation of floating with no sound is amazing and every day the views are different, as the views of the Atherton Tablelands stretch from the surrounding rainforest ringed mountains, past the mango tree patterns below and some days, based on how high your balloon flies, the sparkling blue of the coral sea west of Cairns. Afterwards there is a full hot breakfast buffet, with some of the best eggs and bacon I've had in a long time and help yourself to bottomless champagne in a bush café with views of all the surrounding countryside.

- Dress for a bush walk - sensible shoes and sunglasses are strongly recommended
- Children must be at least 4 years old (younger can come along free but not fly)
- An additional $30pp Aviation Insurance Levy payable on the day of tour
