Our spectacular site in Cairns is a very special place, featuring the worlds first purpose built tower for Bungy Jumping and the only bungy operation on the planet that offers 16 different jump styles from traditional swan dives to riding off the roof on a BMX Bike!
Our 50m / 164ft high tower has been constructed 20 minutes north of Cairns in the middle of the rainforest. Featuring a pond below for water touches, waterfalls and Australian wildlife such as snakes, goannas and native birds.
The natural layout of the site and positioning of the tower makes it one of the most beautiful Bungy sites in the world.
There are 4 different viewing decks around the site to ensure you have the best position to watch both the Bungy jump and Minjin jungle Swing.
The main building, which houses merchandise, licensed bar and reception area was built in 1999 and was designed to compliment the natural elements of the rainforest and the amazing experience on offer.
So whether you’re into live music on a Sunday, Swinging through the rainforest canopy, checking out the view from the top of the tower or free falling from above, you have no excuse not to give your nerves a little wake up!
Trip Includes

Duration
- Allow 4 hours with return transfers from Cairns accommodation
- Allow 1 hour at Smithfield bungy site if driving yourself (20 minutes north of Cairns)
Departures
- 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm
- Big Day Out departs at 9am and 11am only
- Pick up from your hotel/backpackers or self drive to Smithfield bungy site (20 minutes north of Cairns central)

- DVD’s & Photos can be arranged on the day when you check in on site
- Minimum age is 10 years
- No height or weight restrictions
- Licensed bar on site
- It is possible to jump tandem at this site
- Upgrade to the Big Day Out Package which includes unlimited bungy jumps, the Minjin Jungle Swing, Photos and Lunch. Book for 9am or 11am otherwise there will not be enough time in the day to do all your jumps and have lunch
- A $10 levy per person will be charged to defray the cost of risk management and public liability insurance. This is payable direct to AJ Hackett on the day of activity

If you’re looking for adrenaline then jump out of your seat and experience this amazing Bungy Site by the legend AJ Hackett. The site is located right bang smack in world heritage rainforest with a babbling brook and native animals everywhere. It’s been operating in Cairns for more than 20 years and there are 16 different ways to jump. Over the last 4 years I have done most of the 16 jump styles, but by far my favourite has to be running off the roof in a full body harness – insane!
Suggestions: There’s a great bar, sun beds, and free return transport from the city and most accommodation, so spend at least a couple of hours on site or even half a day. On Sundays they have live music, jumping castle for the kids and BBQ food from 1-5pm, which I have found myself at a number of times. Look out for some of their legendary crew Luke, Boris and Coral who always put on a great show.
