Crocodile Explorer Wilderness Cruise
Description
M.V. CROCODILE EXPLORER is a modern, air-conditioned 14 metre catamaran providing the ultimate in cruising comfort. Departing from the Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns, the three hour half day tour combines a cruise on Trinity Inlet as well as a tour of Cairns Crocodile Farm. Passengers are treated to the friendly and helpful service from our trained interpretive crew.
Crocodile Explorer is a fully guided half day tour comprising 3 experiences:
- A Wilderness Cruise through Trinity Inlet - The MV Crocodile Explorer takes small numbers of visitors in air-conditioned comfort along waterways winding through a 300 square kilometre maze of mangroves. This national park is rich in wildlife and is the natural habitat of the saltwater crocodile.
- A visit to the Cairns Crocodile Farm - Australia’s largest commercial crocodile farm and home to over 20,000 farm crocodiles and 200 large breeding crocodiles. Skins from this farm are considered the highest grade in the world and are currently exclusively supplied to Hermes. There are no jumping croc shows – this is a purely commercial enterprise and a fascinating insight in to the industry.
- A Scenic Coach Tour through Southern Cairns - A short 30 minute coach tour through the sugar cane fields and mountain ranges of southern Cairns.

Everything Cairns Comments
If you've never been to Cairns before and want to learn a bit about the area and waterways or you are facinated by birdlife and crocodiles then be sure to do a Habitat Cruise. I am a young adult and used to jumping out of planes and off bridges and I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. Very educational and the staff are about the best going around.
Suggestions: Take your camera because you're sure to see dozens of live crocodiles in their natural habitat, not to mention hundreds of exotic birds. Great family activity.
